Expert to lead workshop on talking to children about race

For many of us these conversations can be fraught. How much should you say? What exactly should you say? Won't talking about race actually taint kids' minds? If we just act color blind will our children develop best? Dr. Jeane Copenhaver-Johnson of OSU has been researching these questions for many years and she has developed some answers and some guidelines for parents and teachers.

Mark your calendar for May 1 at 2 pm.
Bring a lunch and eat with other parents from First UU and SYC or go out for lunch. We'll have childcare with activities.

Here's Jeane's cv.
And her article "Silence in the Classroom: Learning to Talk About Issues of Race"  is here.
